WG4. Modelling

Thematic scope

WG4 is a horizontal working group of KMM-VIN supporting the working groups of transport, energy and biomaterials. It comprises research groups from universities, research centers and companies. 

Research Areas:

  • Structural parts.
  • Tissues engineering.
  • Powder processes.
  • Damage in composites.
  • Metal-ceramic Interfaces.
  • Metal formability.
  • Multiscale modelling.
  • Atomistic modelling.
  • Optimization/Inverse analysis.
  • Homogenization/Effective properties.
  • Simulation-based material characterization. 

Recent activities:

  • On 26th of January 2016 the KMM-VIN 5th Industrial Workshop on „Multi-Scale and Multi-Physics Materials Modeling for Advanced Industries” was held at ETSI Industriales, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain as a joint event of KMM-VIN AISBL and Federation of European Materials Societies (FEMS).
